FEMA Awards $1,667,191 Grant to Winnebago County
CHICAGO, Ill. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released $1,667,191 in Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds to Winnebago County, Ill., for the acquisition and removal of 12 homes in Edgemere Terrace that have been repeatedly damaged by flooding.

Lake County Earns CRS 6 Rating: Lower Flood Insurance Premiums for Many Residents
CHICAGO, Ill. -- Lake County National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policy holders will collectively save $211,881 in annual flood insurance premiums now that the community has achieved a higher classification in the NFIP’s Community Rating System (CRS), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region V announced today.
